A brief introduction

Dr. Conway, fellow classmates, et al:

Hello! I’m Catherine. We may have met in another graduate school course at U.T.A., but in case you don’t know me:

My specialization in Modern Languages is Spanish. I did my undergraduate studies at U.T. Austin (B.A. in English). I lived in Spain for 24 years where I did freelance work as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher, textbook writer-editor, and translator.  I returned to the U.S. in late 1998, and currently I teach Spanish in a private all girls’ high school in Dallas. Since I work full time, I am only able to take one course per semester in the masters program. Slowly but surely! This is my fifth course in graduate school, and second MODL course.

I look forward to working with you all this semester.  See you next week!

    Catherine,
Have you been to Russia as well? I would like to talk to you about Spain as I have never been there, but am very desirous not only for pleasure, but to look in the archives of Seville for my dissertation topic concerns Early Modern Spain.
    Zac

Hi Zac! No, I have not been to Russia, but I would love to go there one day. Your dissertation topic sounds fascinating. I would be happy to share any knowledge I have about Spain that might be useful to you. See you in class!
